I don’t know if I ever heard him mention that soup by name, but he never climbed into that rig without his old dented thermos full, and it was always our first meal on the day he returned home. His spoon clutched in his fist, he’d slurp the drips of broth off his lower lip just slightly, and grunt quietly with satisfaction after every few bites.
After reviewing current restaurant guidelines, Delightful Dishes will be adding curbside pickup to our popular touch-free, delivery service. Beginning Monday, May 11th we will be offering a limited menu for curbside pickup.
Effective immediately, Delightful Dishes will be a delivery only, touch-free establishment until further notice. This means we will bring your favorite casseroles, salads, soups and desserts to your doorstep. We hope this will allow you to stay home and safe as well as keep our staff healthy and working.
We have learned some things about what you want to eat and what you all need during these unprecedented times. So that’s what we’ve decided to focus our efforts on. Starting Monday, March 30th and until our dining room is back open.
These four little shifts in what we look for have brought some joy into our messy, cabin fever-y house…joy that we hope will outlive this pandemic. It’s our family’s itty-bitty piece of resistance. Maybe some of it will be helpful to you too?
After careful consideration, we’ve decided the most responsible course of action for our customers and our staff is to continue serving and providing our menu through carry out and Dish Delivery services only. Starting March 18th, we will only be accepting Pick Up and Weekly Dish Delivery orders as our dining room will be closed. Note: Our lunch menu will still be available between 11:00am-2:00pm but only for Pick Up orders (Carry Out).

In an effort to lighten things up, we decided to create this GoUpstate interview remix. Enjoy.
Yes, Delightful Dishes had been opened over a decade by 2009. Indeed, we confess that we hadn’t had to change our successful recipes much as written by the press. In fact, we believe the author of the referenced article was making a positive and profound point: Our time-tested, proven recipes catering to loyal customers had become local classics.
Thank you Inman for the long time local love! You’ve been amazing, supporting Delightful Dishes for over twenty years in Inman, SC. For that, we’d like to start off by thanking all of you for your kind, thoughtful words. It’s those “word of mouth” mentions about our café and catering home hidden away in Inman that get us recognized in articles as far back as 2002.
